‘Handcrafted Wonders’ to exhibit creations by seven women artists
Pune December 10, 2018 :’Handcrafted Wonders’, a unique exhibition, will highlight the most vivid and vibrant work of seven contemporary lady artists which includes well-acclaimed designers from different parts of the city. Ashwini Jambotkar, Shruti Bhagdikar, Shamala Lonkar, Dipti Bawane, Dipti Jana, Dipali Pathak and Pranali Parasnis have come together to showcase their extraordinary works.
The artifacts will be exhibited from Wednesday, December 12 to Sunday, December 16 in between 11am to 7.30pm in Darpan Art Gallery at Kalachhaya Campus, Patrakar Nagar. The entry to the exhibition is free for all. A formal inauguration of the exhibition will be done on Wednesday, December 12 at 5 pm at the hands of renowned Singer Anjali Marathe.
Artist Ashwini Jambotkar’s true calling lies in her work with fabrics of various hues and textures. Through her brand Sakuraa Handmades, Ashwini creates bespoke clothing accessories, furnishing and mainly fabric collages.
Shruti Bhagdikar, an engineer by education and a jewellery artist by profession, started Jhumka jewellery with an urge to do something creative. She designs/makes Handcrafted Silver Jewellery using semi precious beads, cultured pearls, and synthetic gemstones.
Shamala Lonkar who has made hand painted cushions, table runners, sling bags and a lot more.
Dipti Bawane will showcase handmade decorative pots, cooking wares, table wares, tiles etc. Dipali Pathak will showcase crochet artifacts, while Pranali Parasnis will present handpainted dress materials.
Dipti Jana, an IT professional started a venture named as ‘Kalavithi’, a platform for folk artists from all parts of India to showcase their Art.
