RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha will not participate in NDA parties meeting today

New Delhi: RLSPA president Upendra Kushwaha can leave the BJP-led NDA on Monday, one day before the winter session of Parliament begins. This can change the political equation in Bihar. The RLSP chief has been targeting BJP and its key ally, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the past few weeks.

Kushwaha is upset with BJP’s signals that RLSPA will not get more than two seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. On the other hand, the BJP and JD (U) has agreed to contest the elections in equal number of seats. A senior RLSP leader said, “Kushwaha can announce his separation from the BJP today. He will also resign from the post of Union minister.”

RLSP can join hands with the opposition, which includes RJD and Congress. There are 40 MPs in the Lok Sabha from Bihar.

Kushwaha had objection to the issue of seat sharing in Bihar. JDU and BJP had decided that both the parties would contest in equal number of seats and the remaining seats would go to the coalition’s partner. It is being told that Kushwaha wanted more than 2 seats for his party. But that could not be possible.
