Haunting picture of child on body of his grandfather in Kashmir

Pune/Srinagar, July 1, 2020: In a clash between the terrorists and a patrol party of CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir police in Sopore district in Kashmir, one head constable from CRPF and a 60-year-old civilian lost their lives. During the attack, three other CRPF personnel were also injured. They have been shifted to the Army’s 92 base hospital in Srinagar. Out of these three, two soldiers are in critical condition.

Kashmir police have rescued a 3-year-old boy whose 60-year-old grandfather was killed in the encounter. The boy witnessed the death of his grandfather and was seen sitting on his motionless body.

The 3-year-old boy and his grandfather were travelling in a vehicle from Sopore to Kupwara. Their vehicle got caught between the cross firing of the terrorists. The old man who was driving the vehicle got out to move away towards a safe spot but got killed. The scared 3-year-old was seen sitting on his grandfather’s dead body.

The Kashmir police rescued the boy to safety and protected him from getting hit by the bullets. Kashmir Zone Police have also tweeted the photo of the child being carried by a policeman.

Meanwhile, Sopore Police clarified, “The news surfaced on some social networking sites that the civilian was brought down and killed is totally baseless and is far beyond the facts, Sopore Police refutes and denies the news and legal action shall be initiated against the false reports and rumours.”
