Headless Body Found in Bhor Taluka: Pune Rural Police Crack Case in 12 Hours

Bhor, 6th May 2025: On 25th April, a headless body was found in Shirgaon, located in Pune district and under the jurisdiction of the Pune Rural Police Force. Within 12 hours of the report, both the identity of the deceased and the accused involved were confirmed, and the suspects were arrested. This swift action was taken by the Local Crime Branch (LCB) with the assistance of Bhor Police Station, which has jurisdiction over the area where the body was discovered.
The body was found by Sudhir Dighe (age 52, resident of Warwand, Bhor), who had gone out with his cattle and immediately reported the discovery to Bhor Police Station. A case has been registered against Santosh Pisal (age 42, resident of Wadgaon Budruk) and Aniket Pisal (age 29, resident of Ambegaon Khurd), who were arrested on 26th April. The deceased has been identified as Santosh Raghunath Pasalkar (age 40, resident of Wadgaon Budruk).
According to police reports, the LCB began investigating the incident due to its serious nature. Police Constable Amol Shedage received a crucial lead that enabled the identification of the body, which had previously been impossible.
Pasalkar had been missing for two days, and it was found that he had an altercation with the accused two days before the body was discovered.
Relatives of the deceased confirmed the body to be that of Pasalkar. Based on suspicion, police arrested Santosh Pisal, who during interrogation confessed to committing the murder along with his accomplice, Aniket Pisal. Bhor Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
