Heavy Rain And Strong Winds Wreak Havoc In Pune, Fire Brigade Called In To Remove Fallen Trees

Pune, 13th April 2023: Pune was hit by heavy rain and strong winds today evening, leading to a series of incidents across the city. The fire brigade was called in to remove seven incidents of trees that were uprooted in areas like Kothrud, Erandwana, Bavdhan, Aundh, Baner and Kalyaninagar.

Additionally, a board fell on a bus in the Kothrud depot, and a large iron column fell near Kalmadi House in Erandwana. Thankfully, the Pune fire brigade teams were quick to respond to the situation and worked towards ensuring the safety of residents in the affected areas.

The weather department has advised caution due to the potential for thunder and lightning with moderate strength. The cloud height is 11 km. Till 8.42 pm, Pashan received the maximum rain of 46 mm, Shivajinagar 24.2 mm, NDA 14 mm, Lohegaon at 2.2 mm, according to IMD.

There is electricity outage in many areas due to the rains and strong winds.
