Heavy Rain Returns To Ghat Sections In Pune, Tamhini Ghat Reports 220 MM Rain In Last 24 Hours

Pune 21st Sept 2023: Several areas in the Pune district have recorded good rainfall in the last few hours. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the ghat sections in the district have recorded a heavy rainfall after a long dry spell.

According to the official data, Tamhini Ghat recorded 220 mm rain in the last 24 hours, Ghat areas in Maval have reported 65 mm rain while 30 mm rain was reported in Lonavala. Similarly, the IMD has recorded 44.5 mm rain in Bhor. The city areas too received good rain as 24.7 mm rain was recorded at Hadapsar, 24.5 at Magarpatta, 24.4 at Koregaon Park, 22 mm at Shivajinagar and 20.6 mm rain was recorded in Pashan area.

The Indian Meteorological Department had predicted ‘thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40kmph) at one or two places’ for the district for today while ‘light to moderate rain or thundershowers’ has been predicted for tomorrow.
