Highway Records 53 Fatalities And 79 Accidents This Year
Pune, 17th November 2022: The old route that connects Pune and Mumbai, which is notorious for traffic accidents, has experienced more collisions this year in the Pune division.
According to information provided by the highway state police (HSP), 53 fatalities were reported in 79 accidents that occurred between January and October this year on the former Pune-Mumbai route in the Maval and Vadgaon divisions. There were 36 accidents and 22 fatalities on the expressway, which is the corresponding number.
According to the highway police, several service, entry, and exit lanes that serve as access points to communities located across the old highway are significant causes of accidents.
According to records, there were 56 fatalities in 93 incidents on the old route in the Maval and Vadgaon districts in 2021. In 2020, there were 84 fewer accidents, but 50 more people died.
However, there were 36 accidents on the road in 2021, and 23 people died as a result. 42 accidents resulted in 26 fatalities in 2020.
