Hinjawadi Bus Fire: Vyoma Graphics Owner Denies Allegations as Probe Deepens

Pune, 24th March 2025: In the aftermath of the shocking fire incident in Hinjawadi, police have intensified their investigation, focusing on Vyoma Graphics owner Nitish Shah. The incident, allegedly orchestrated by mini-bus driver Janardan Hambardikar, has raised serious concerns about workplace grievances and safety measures. Hambardikar reportedly set the fire out of resentment stemming from claims of unfair treatment and stagnant wages by the company. However, Shah has denied all allegations made by the driver and has cooperated fully with the ongoing investigation.
Speaking to the media, Shah expressed his disbelief over the incident, stating, “This tragedy has left us deeply shaken. We are still recovering from its impact. We are providing full support to the police investigation and ensuring proper assistance for the injured.” He further clarified that Hambardikar’s salary was paid in full and denied any delay or reduction in wages.
The police probe has revealed disturbing details about the case. Initially considered an accident, investigations later uncovered that Hambardikar had deliberately caused the fire. Employees testified that he had issued threats days before the incident, citing dissatisfaction with his treatment at work. The police are now examining several critical aspects, including how Hambardikar obtained benzene chemicals used in the fire and whether the bus was modified with excess seating capacity.
Nitish Shah’s interrogation has centred around multiple questions: Was negligence involved in handling benzene chemicals? Were there complaints against Hambardikar that went unaddressed? Did other employees raise concerns about him? Additionally, police are investigating whether bonuses were paid to Hambardikar and whether his grievances were adequately addressed by management.
