Pune, 6th August 2020: An old man allegedly sexually assaulted a female stray dog at the Blue Ridge society in Hinjawadi on July 31. After a resident recorded video of the act, NGO People For Animals (PFA) and some residents have lodged a complaint with Hinjawadi police station. The residents said that the man is from the society and can be seen hanging around with children playing downstairs.

“An aged man was seen doing such a disgraceful act, he could be seen forcing the voiceless creature to have oral sex with him. The incident happened on 31st July between 4-7 pm, one of the animal lovers recorded this incident and reported to PFA Pune District on the night of 3rd August. PFA team has given a written complaint to police which has begun the investigation with the help of CCTV footage and the video of the incident recorded by a resident from her balcony. We always appreciate people making such videos and give a piece of strong evidence to accelerate the investigation without such evidence cases become weak”, said Puneeta Khanna, head of PFA, Pune.

Police Inspector Ajay Jogdand of Hinjawadi police station said that no FIR has been registered yet. “There is no clarity whether he was playing with the dog or sexually abusing her. A police officer has been assigned to look into the complaint”, he said.
