Honda Cars India registered monthly domestic sales of 7,509 units in August’20

New Delhi, 01 September, 2020: Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, registered monthly domestic sales of 7,509 units in August’20. During the month, the company launched the New Jazz, a premium hatchback, which is expected to create fresh excitement in its segment.

The export stood at 450 units last month.

Speaking on the sales performance,  Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President and Director, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “A quarter into the unlock phase, we are progressing as per our plan, both in terms of supply & demand registering a sequential growth of 39% over July’20. As we ramp up our daily production to 100% pre-COVID level this month, we are optimistic about the upcoming festive period and expect demand to improve further. However, considering that COVID-19 cases are constantly on a rise, we need to continuously monitor overall buying sentiment and its impact on auto sales going forward.”

The company has launched four new models in last two months starting with New WR-V, All New 5th Gen City, Civic Diesel BS6 version and New Jazz. Since the production resumption in June this year, the company has ramped up its monthly domestic despatches with 1,398 units in June 2020 and 5,383 units in July 2020.

The total number of domestic sales in August 2019 stood at 8,291 units.
