HORIBA launches new vehicle emission test cell, vehicle engineering, consulting, test services business in India

Pune, July 9, 2019: HORIBA India Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of HORIBA Ltd., Japan, has installed a new Vehicle Emission Test Cell in its Technical Centre in Chakan, Pune. The new facility strengthens HORIBA’s offerings in the field of automotive testing, covering vehicle mass emission testing for BSVI, Euro VI, vehicle performance and altitude simulation testing, along with RDE tests. This facility is an addition to HORIBA’s existing two engine test cells for passenger cars and heavy duty engines at Pune.

The new Vehicle Emission Test Cell houses the latest emission systems; MEXA One Series System for BSVI, a Four Wheel Drive (4WD) VULCAN chassis dyno, a Compact Altitude Simulation System (MEDAS) and a Greenhouse Gas (N2O) Measurement System. MEDAS and STAR VETS Automation System are some of the unique features of this test cell, with the MEDAS able to simulate altitude of up to 5,000 meters.

HORIBA India, under its aegis is also launching new vehicle engineering, consulting and testing services which will support Indian OEMs with vehicle engineering, vehicle dynamics and durability testing, advanced electrified vehicle (EV) development, vehicle integration, battery management system (BMS) testing and RDE testing services. The services will help OEMs to develop more efficient, safer and environmentally friendly vehicles using the latest technologies.

An announcement to this effect was made by Dr. Masayuki Adachi, President, HORIBA Limited, Japan during a press conference held in the city today. Talking about these revolutionary solutions, Dr. Adachi said, “After grand success in other world markets, we are happy to provide enhanced solutions for the Indian market, which will prove to be very useful for the automotive testing industry.

“It will be particularly effective in giving customized and total vehicle engineering consulting and testing solutions to our customers who are driving the automotive industry,” he added.
