Housing Society Re-opens Gym On Demand Of Residents

Wakad, September 4, 2020: While the Coronavirus disease (COVID19) wrath continues to infect people, re-opening of gyms, has been an utmost concern for fitness freaks. Keeping this in mind, housing societies have begun gym services with necessary precautions.
Shriyans Housing society, Punawale has reopened gyms with a standard operating procedure (SOP) such as – one person is allowed inside the gym at a time, sanitizer should be used before and after the usage of equipment, and mask, hand towel and shoes are compulsory for everyone.
Speaking to Punekarnews.in, Sharad Verma, chairman of Shriyans Housing society said, “Due to rainy season we can’t work out outside, so we have decided to reopen gyms in our society as a lot of people were demanding. There are 200 families in our society. Almost 10-15 people workout daily following the social distancing protocols and other precautionary measures”.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra State government hasn’t allowed the re-opening of gyms, according to the recent guidelines for September.
“We have not given any particular instructions for re-opening the gyms, as we still are awaiting clearance from the state government”, said Tejaswini Sawai, president of Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Societies Federation.
Recently, MP Supriya Sule requested the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to consider the difficulties faced by the gym-owners and take a positive decision in this regard.
