Husband Follows Wife From Delhi To Pune, Assaults Her At Hotel Suspecting Affair
Pune, 18th April 2021: Suspecting that his wife was having an affair, a man followed her from Delhi to a hotel in Pune and ‘caught’ her with a friend. He then tried to kill her by brutally assaulting her.
The incident took place at a hotel on Nagar Road. At first, a non-cognizable case was registered at the Yerwada police station. Following the court order, a case of attempt to murder and molestation has been registered against the husband and his accomplices.

A case has been registered against Akash Anand Mann (32) of New Delhi and his accomplice Saurabh Gaur and one more unidentified person.
According to a complaint lodged by the 29-year-old woman, the incident took place on January 27, 2021. Mann is the husband of the complainant. She had come to Pune with her friend Jagprakash Pande. She stayed at a luxurious hotel on Nagar Road. When she went to pick up her belongings from her friend’s room, her husband arrived with two others. He beat her on suspicion of having an affair with her friend.

The complainant said in her statement that the other two accused, then, threatened to kill her. After this, Akash started hitting her on the face and stomach, when her friend Jagprakash came to save her, and he too was assaulted. As the complainant was fleeing the room to save her life, one of the accused grabbed her by the back and molested her.
Akash then threw her on the couch and strangled her, she resisted and tried to call the police control room. However, he threw her mobile phone and beat her again.
According to police, Akash used to work with a central intelligence agency. However, he has resigned and is preparing for the UPSC exam. His wife is a banker. The couple lived in Haryana. She had studied in Pune. She came to Pune saying that she wanted to meet her friends. However, her husband Akash was sceptical of her character and followed her.
