IDAS PROBATIONERS VISIT TO PCDA (SC) PUNE

Pune, 20th December 2022: Indian Defence Accounts Services (IDAS) Probationers of 2021 & 2022 batch made a visit of office of PCDA (SC) Pune on dated 19.12.2022. These IDAS Probationers/Officers have recently joined National Academy of Defence Finance Management (NADFM) Pune, as trainees.

 

After clearing Civil Services Examination (UPSC) 2021/2022 these 22 officers were allotted IDAS cadre and they have reported at NADFM, Pune for undergoing full-fledged training. In this National Institute of repute, these probationers will undergo training for one and half year (16 months).

 

The inaugural address was delivered by Smt. Pooja Bhat, IDAS, DCDA. She mentioned that Defence Accounts Department is a learning organization and the oldest department too (275 years). The current training policy mandates that all new officers shall visit the big offices of the department. As these officers are future leaders and ambassadors of department, they need to learn the professional work culture of the department. PCDA (SC) Pune is one of the largest organization under Defence Accounts Departments in terms of the area and functional jurisdiction. It is geographically spread across 11 states, 04 UTs having 12 units of cantonment boards. Its jurisdiction covers 09 lakhs acres of land and it caters the accounting, auditing, financial advise and payments of Pay and Allowances to 3 lakhs serving soldiers, JCO/PBORs/ Stores purchase. The bills of Rs. 36,000 crores are being passed for payments to suppliers. Moreover, the ancient existence of Victorian architecture of building is notable as it came into existence in 1864 during British era & has been declared as heritage structure.

 

Twenty two probationers of 2021 & 2022 batch comprising of 01 Doctor, 11 Engineers 10 have qualified CSE (UPSC) and 10 of them are holding experience of working in government in past.

 

Dr. Mahesh Bhagwat Dale, IDAS, Jt. CDA, Ahmednagar delivered his lecture on the need of not only IQ but EQ (Emotional Quotient) as well as SQ (Spiritual Quotient) to sail through various professional and personal challenges in the era of stress and tension emphasizing the importance that the mind is the great faculty.

 

Shri Anand Agarwal, IDAS, Director NADFM/ CDA Training Pune, in his Guest of Honour address mentioned that maximum probationers of the IDAS started their career in PCDA (SC) and got little nostalgic about his initial days in the department and he shared his vast experiences with the batch of Probationary Officers.

 

Dr. Rajeev S Chavan, IDAS, ndc, PCDA (SC) Pune in his key note address underlined the need and necessity of departmental training activity to develop the overall personality of the officers who will be the future of the department. They will be the brand ambassadors to carry the department in thick and thin in coming days. He requested all to take training very sincerely as it will help in carrying them strong and steadily during their official stay and voyage in Defence Accounts. He urged all to be more techno savvy and hone their communication and soft skills to be in good stead with the Olive Greens (Army) in coming years. “Value of money lies in the holder, no service is superior or inferior, it is the matter of perception that differentiates a Rupee in hand of a beggar or even a king bears the same value and meaning”, he further added.

 

Finally he quoted Tukoba by saying that “Written words may sink in the water of the river but the ideas of revolution and change, remains”. He advocated that change is must to keep alive in this ever changing world of uncertainty, adversity and challenges.
