Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey’s MCOCA Driven Surgical Strike On Criminals

Pimpri Chinchwad, 5th May 2024: In a determined effort to ensure public safety and combat criminal activities, Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey has led a proactive and action-oriented policing strategy, garnering significant attention ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In recent times, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC) has intensified efforts to eradicate criminal elements, with recent crackdowns targeting notorious gangs.
The PCPC’s stringent actions have notably focused on dismantling criminal syndicates, with recent operations targeting gangs such as the Shinde Gang, Khan Gang, and Srigond Gang. Utilizing the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA), the police have intensified their crackdown on criminal activities, resulting in the booking of 12 gangs and 58 individuals under MCOCA this year alone.
Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey’s approach to law enforcement has surpassed previous records set under the Pimpri Chinchwad Commissionerate. Since assuming his role, the PCPC has registered 51 cases under MCOCA, taking decisive action against 357 criminals. This stark increase in proactive policing reflects Choubey’s unwavering commitment to public safety and the maintenance of law and order.
As the 2024 Lok Sabha elections draw near, Commissioner Choubey and his team have intensified efforts to create a transparent and secure social environment conducive to free and fair elections. Recognizing the potential for criminal elements to disrupt the social environment, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have launched a comprehensive crackdown on criminal activities, ensuring a fear-free & transparent atmosphere for Elections.
Speaking to Punekar News, Commissioner Choubey emphasized the importance of decisive police action in line with the law, reaffirming the commitment of his team to safeguarding the security and well-being of citizens round the clock.
In response to inquiries from Punekar News regarding the record-breaking enforcement of MCOCA, Commissioner Choubey reiterated the necessity of stringent measures against criminal gangs. He highlighted the proactive approach taken by the police in updating their database of criminals, facilitating swift and effective police action against criminal activities. He emphasized that the crackdown on criminal syndicates and MCOCA action has significantly deterred such activities, contributing to a reduction in serious crimes.
