IGNOU Opens Admissions for July 2025 Session; Pune Centre Now Functional at New Balewadi Campus
Pune, 11th July 2025: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced the commencement of its admission process for the July 2025 academic session. The university’s Pune regional centre has started functioning from its newly constructed building in Balewadi.
The three-storey facility has been designed to strengthen student services, with a dedicated learner support centre within the premises to cater to the needs of students from Pune and nearby areas.
Admissions are now open for a wide range of programmes including certificate, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, as well as postgraduate certificate and diploma courses. Interested candidates can visit the official website www.ignou.ac.in to access the common prospectus, which is available for free download. The deadline to apply is July 15, 2025.
Highlighting the university’s inclusive approach, IGNOU officials said that there is no age bar for admissions and the fee structure remains affordable, allowing greater access to higher education. A newly established Swayamprabha studio at the centre will also facilitate teaching and learning sessions in Marathi, promoting regional language education.
“IGNOU is committed to expanding educational opportunities by integrating technology into the learning process. With over 325 academic programmes – including four-year undergraduate degrees and skill-based training – the university is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) to meet the evolving demands of learners,” said Dr. N R Rajendra Prasad, Regional Director of IGNOU Pune.
