IMD Issues Heatwave Alert for Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Palghar; Pune Temporarily Safe

Pune, 26th April 2024: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, and Palghar districts on 28th and 29th April. Residents in these areas are urged to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from the expected high temperatures.

The IMD has forecasted that temperatures may soar significantly during this period, posing health risks due to the intense heat. It’s advised to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight, and take necessary steps to stay cool and comfortable.

Meanwhile, in Pune, current conditions do not indicate a heatwave, with no expected heatwave in the next five days. However, temperatures are expected to rise to 41°C in Pune’s Shivajinagar area on 28th and 29th April.
