Pune, 19th July 2021: Finally, the monsoon has become active once again with Indian meteorological department (IMD) predicting rains in all 35 districts of Maharashtra State. Apparently, a ‘red alert’ has been given for five districts while orange alert for three of the districts. The red alert indicates heavy to very heavy rainfall in these districts.

Districts which have received red alert include Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur and Satara while orange alert has been issued for Pune, Thane and Palghar. Similarly, light to moderate rainfall in Marathwada and Vidharbha too have been predicted.
“The renewal of rain in the state has occurred owing to a low-pressure area developing between the coastal area of Maharashtra and Karnataka. Besides that a cyclonic circulation formed over coasts in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. This has resulted in the increase of moisture in the atmosphere creating favourable condition for rain the state”, informed IMD.

“The state will receive rainfall till July 22”, IMD predicted.
