IMD Predicts Light Rain Till August 2 In Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad And Neighbouring Areas

Pune, 27th July 2022: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast of light rain in Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad and neighbouring areas till August 2.

According to IMD, there will be partly cloudy sky becoming generally cloudy towards afternoon/evening and very light to light rain very likely.

Talking about the monsoon update for the next few days, Dr. Anupam Kashyapi, Scientist ‘F’, Head, Weather and Air Pollution Monitoring Unit at IMD, Pune, said that “Today also monsoon is active over Maharashtra State. But from tomorrow monsoon will be weak with no warning except chance of moderate thunderstorm in afternoon hours especially over Madhya Maharashtra (including Pune) and Marathwada in coming days.

This is due to the presence of moisture and rise in temperature(more than 30°C). Overall rainfall will be very light to light, but there will be a chance of convective activity in afternoon/evening hours and if a convective cell develops and passes through the city area, that area may experience a short period of intense rain with moderate rainfall and adjacent areas may experience no or light rain.”
