In 4 days, Pune Police penalise over 2400 people for roaming around, not wearing mask

Pune, 8 July 2020: Pune City Police have started taking action against people who are found roaming around unnecessarily, not wearing the mask and other violations.
Pune Police Commissioner Dr K Venkatesham said, “In the last four days, total 2432 cases have been registered by Pune police for various violations. I urge Punekars for self-discipline. It is time everyone of us together take measures. Strintakes enforcement of lockdown will continue.”
Enforcement Actions by Pune police – From 3 July to 7 July
People without mask – 778
People roaming out without any reason (walking) – 901
People roaming out without any reason (vehicle) – 336
Vehicles seized – 262
Vehicles with more than allowed capacity – 107
Shops open more than the allowed timings – 45
Social distancing violations in the shops – 3
