India And Afghanistan: India Opened Its Cards On Afghanistan-Taliban, Presented Roadmap For Solution, Pressure On Other Countries

New Delhi, 16th July 2021: India has presented a roadmap to solve the problem of Afghanistan. On the issue of Afghanistan, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that Kabul’s future cannot be its past.

At the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting, the External Affairs Minister presented a three-point roadmap for the conflict-torn country. This includes steps to ensure an end to violence and terrorist attacks, conflict resolution through political dialogue and neighboring countries.

 

Pakistan and China targeted

 

In the SCO meeting, India once again targeted Pakistan and China without naming them. The External Affairs Minister made it clear that the main objective of the SCO is to combat terrorism and extremism. He said that in such a situation it is very important that the financing of terrorism should be strictly stopped, so that terrorism can be completely stopped.

He said that India promises support for an Afghanistan free from terrorism, war and drugs. Foreign ministers in the SCO in a joint statement on Wednesday condemned the ongoing violence and terrorist attacks in the country

 

Talks will happen soon amidst border tension

 

The Indian Foreign Minister and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi held talks for nearly an hour on the LAC conflict in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. In this meeting, in the midst of the confrontation on the LAC, the two countries once again agreed to start military-level talks soon.

The External Affairs Minister emphasized that both sides should work towards early resolution of the remaining issues related to the LAC in Eastern Ladakh, keeping in mind the mutual interests. At the same time, bilateral agreements and protocols should be fully followed.
