2.15 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a meeting amid tension on the border between India and Pakistan. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, CDS and the chiefs of the three armed forces were present in this meeting held at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.
2 pm: A red alert has been issued in Pathankot, Punjab. All shops in Pathankot are closed. The police have appealed to people to stay at home.
1.30 pm: A piece of missile has been recovered in Barmer, Rajasthan. Police has appealed to everyone to stay indoors. Police is investigating the matter.
1 pm: After the tension between India and Pakistan, the use of drones has been banned in Amritsar. The Amritsar district administration has issued a notice and ordered a ban on drones.
12.30 pm: A high alert has been issued in Barmer, Rajasthan. District Collector Tina Dabi has appealed to all citizens to stay at home. People have been asked to stay away from markets and public places.
