New Delhi, 9th May 2025: In a major escalation, the Pakistan Armed Forces carried out coordinated drone attacks and multiple ceasefire violations (CFVs) along India’s western border and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on the intervening night of May 8 and 9.

According to a statement issued by the Indian Army, Pakistani troops launched attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other munitions across various sectors. However, all hostile drone incursions were effectively neutralized, and Indian forces responded firmly to the ceasefire violations.

“Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along the entire Western Border. Pak troops also resorted to numerous CFVs along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir,” the Army said.

The Indian Army emphasized that its response was swift and decisive. “The drone attacks were effectively repulsed and a befitting reply was given to the CFVs,” the official statement added.

Reaffirming its stance on national defence, the Indian Army stated, “We remain committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation. All nefarious designs will be responded with force.”

This fresh provocation comes amid rising tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, following heightened hostilities and recent airspace activity. Security across border states including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan remains on high alert.

As of now, there are no official reports of casualties or damage on the Indian side. Further updates are awaited from military and defence sources.
