Indian Army Opens NCC Special Entry 124th Course; 76 Officer Vacancies Announced
New Delhi, 13th February 2026: The Indian Army has invited applications for the NCC Special Entry Scheme 124th Course, offering 76 vacancies for commissioned officer posts. The course is scheduled to commence in October 2026, and candidates will not be required to take a written examination.
Online registrations opened on February 13 and will remain active until March 16, 2026. The scheme provides a direct pathway for eligible NCC cadets and wards of battle casualties to join the Army as officers.
Of the total 76 posts:
-63 vacancies are for NCC male candidates
-5 vacancies are for NCC female candidates
-7 vacancies are for male wards of battle casualties of Army personnel
-1 vacancy is reserved for a female ward of a battle casualty
-The entry is open to unmarried male and female candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
-Hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
-Final-year students may apply if they have secured at least 50% marks in the first two or three years of their degree programme.
-Possess a valid NCC ‘C’ Certificate.
-Age must be between 19 and 25 years as on July 1, 2026 (born between July 2, 2001, and July 1, 2007, both dates inclusive).
Selection Process:
There will be no written examination under this scheme. Applications will be shortlisted, and eligible candidates will be called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. Those clearing the SSB will undergo a medical examination.
The final merit list will be prepared based on performance in the SSB interview and medical fitness.
