Indian Film Industry Celebrates As RRR Song “Naatu Naatu” Wins Oscar For Best Original Song
Mumbai, 13th March 2023: The Oscar for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles (USA) has been won by the RRR song “Naatu Naatu”. The song has been composed by MM Keeravani, with lyrics by Chandrabose and vocals by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.
Released in March 2022, the song gained immense popularity after the release of SS Rajamouli’s film on OTT platforms, and has since been loved by foreign audiences as well. The RRR film stars Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn.
In his acceptance speech, Keeravani sang a self-composed song in honour of Rajamouli and the nation of India. The song was performed on the Oscars stage by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, while Deepika Padukone introduced the performance. It received a standing ovation at the ceremony.
Naatu Naatu had also won the same category at the Golden Globes earlier this year. It has also won the Best Song at the Critics’ Choice Awards and the Hollywood Critics Association.
The song was shot at Mariinskyi Palace in Kyiv, Ukraine.
