Punekar News's photo.Indian Navy is conducting a 7-day Motorcycle Expedition to Rann of Kutch and Dwaraka to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Indo-Pak War of 1965 and to make the present day public aware of the sacrifices made by the martyrs and also the gallant action of the Indian Armed Forces during the conflict. 17 Officers (05 Staff Officers and 12 Trainee Officers of Marine Engineering Specialisation Course) of INS Shivaji & INHS Kasturi lead by Commander Debashish Paul are participating in the Motorcycle Expedition. The Rann of Kutch and Dwaraka are an ideal choice for the motorcycle expedition as the entire prelude to the Indo-Pak War of 1965 started in Jan 1965, with Pakistan claiming rights over the entire Rann of Kutch and Dwaraka was the only sea port that saw Naval action during the war.

The expedition was flagged off by Commodore Harish Batra, Station Commander, Lonavla on 18 Sep 15 from INS Shivaji. The expedition will cover 2700 kms. and terminate at INS Shivaji, Lonavla on 24 Sep 15.
