Indian Railway cancels all trains till June 30, Shramik Express to continue

Pune, May 14, 2020: Indian Railways today gave an important notice for all passengers. While giving the information, the Railways said that it has cancelled all the pre-booked tickets for the journey till 30 June. Railways will refund the money for all these cancelled tickets. However, the Railways also made it clear that all the special passenger trains and Shramik Express running during this period will continue as usual. In a statement, the Railway Ministry said that by June 30, all tickets booked will be refunded.

 

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Railways, general passenger services including mail/express, passenger and suburban services have been cancelled until further advice. All tickets booked for the period up to June 30, 2020, can be cancelled. All the ticket money will be refunded. Railways have informed that 2,34,411 passengers have booked tickets for special trains running since May 12. This has resulted in the Railways receiving a total of Rs 45.20 crore as fare.

The Railways also informed today that IRCTC has started taking the address of the destination station of all the passengers who have booked their tickets online from 13 May. Railways have said that this will help them in locating them later when needed. The Railway Ministry has issued a guideline regarding cancellation of tickets already booked and refund thereof.

Regarding the cancelled trains by the railways, the guidelines of the Ministry of Railways states that refunds at the counter can be taken on submission of tickets for six months from the date of the journey.
