Indian Railways Announces 3,548 Graduate-Level Vacancies; Apply by November 6

New Delhi, 11th October 2026: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced 3,548 vacancies for graduate-level posts under the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) recruitment through Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 06/2026. The online application process began on October 8, 2026, and eligible candidates can apply until November 6, 2026, at 11.59 pm.

The recruitment covers four posts: Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor, Goods Train Manager, Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist, and Senior Clerk Cum Typist.

Of the total vacancies, 2,750 are for Goods Train Manager, 371 for Senior Clerk Cum Typist, 300 for Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist and 127 for Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor.

The initial basic pay for Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor is ₹35,400 per month under Pay Level 6 of the Seventh Central Pay Commission. The other three posts carry an initial basic pay of ₹29,200 per month under Pay Level 5. Applicable allowances and service conditions will be governed by the prescribed rules.

Eligibility and important dates

Candidates must hold a degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification and meet the specific eligibility requirements for their chosen post. The prescribed age limit is 18 to 33 years as on January 1, 2027, with age relaxations applicable to eligible categories under the recruitment rules.

The last date for payment of the examination fee is November 8, 2026. Candidates can make corrections to their applications during the modification window from November 9 to November 18, 2026, subject to the conditions specified in the notification.

Selection process and typing test provisions

The selection process comprises a first-stage Computer-Based Test (CBT), a second-stage CBT, document verification and a medical examination, as applicable.

According to the supplied recruitment details, the Computer-Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) has been dispensed with for the posts of Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist and Senior Clerk Cum Typist. Candidates appointed to these posts will be expected to demonstrate the prescribed computer and typing proficiency after joining, in accordance with the notification.

Eligible candidates with disabilities can avail themselves of applicable provisions for scribe assistance and compensatory time, subject to the prescribed conditions. Reservation and age-relaxation benefits will also apply as per the relevant rules.
