Initial Investigation Reveals Pakistan Links In Pahalgam Terror Attack; Ministry Of External Affairs Confirms

New Delhi, 20th May 2025: The preliminary investigation into the Pahalgam terror attack has uncovered significant revelations indicating connections between the attackers and handlers based in Pakistan. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) informed the Parliamentary Standing Committee that the terrorists involved maintained communication links, described as ‘communication nodes,’ with their handlers operating from Pakistan.
The attack bears similarities to previous assaults claimed by the group ‘The Resistance Front,’ which the Ministry clarified is another name for the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The MEA emphasized Pakistan’s established track record as a haven for terrorism, supported by concrete evidence.
The Ministry also noted that Pakistan frequently blames India for violence occurring on its territory despite a lack of substantive proof for such accusations. According to the MEA, this blame game aims to create a false equivalence between the two neighboring countries, suggesting both are victims of cross-border terrorism—a claim that the Ministry rejected.
The deadly attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, targeted tourists and resulted in the loss of 26 lives, sparking widespread outrage across India. In response, India launched ‘Operation Sindoor,’ striking several terrorist camps across the border in Pakistan. Following these developments, a ceasefire has now been implemented between the two countries.
