International Yoga Day Celebration At Military Establishments in Pune

International Yoga Day was celebrtated at various Militrary Establishments in and around Pune.    It was organized from 0700 hrs to 0800 hrs on 21 June 2016 at Milkha Singh Sports Complex on behalf of Dakshin Maharashtra Sub Area. The event witnessed very enthusiastic participation of 1126 military persons, their families and    ex-servicemen belonging to different age groups. Trained Yoga Instructors conducted the Yoga session for all volunteers and also highlighted the importance of Yoga and its growing popularity in the entire world.

AT NDA

In consonance with rich Indian tradition of yoga the National Defence Academy endavoursthat all members of NDA should be physically fit and mentally healthy. Keeping the same philosophy in mind,International Yoga Day was celebrated at thePhysical Training Team at National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla with great enthusiasm. The event was attended by Air Mshl JS Kler, VM, Commandant, NationalDefence Academy alongwith Officers, JCOs,NCOsand families including civilian staff of the academy. A total of 265 members attended the Yoga Day celebrations.

 The event started with a brief introduction and importance of Yoga and the chanting of ‘OM’,Shanti mantras followed by asanas like Vajrasan, Tadasan, Vakasan, Natarajasan, Trikonasan, Bhujangasan, Shalavasan,Halasan, Saravngasan, Shirsasan etc. Pranayams like Anulom-Vilom, Kapalbhanti, Brahmari Pranayam, Sheetli Pranayam, Sheetkari Pranayam etc.

The event was performed with great interest and enjoyed by everyone present at the event.
