Pimpri, 23rd October 2021: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had announced yesterday in Pune to inquire into the sale of all 65 sugar factories.

To this, State President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chandrakant Patil today said that it is not our role to just inquire about Jarandeshwar and not the other 64 factories.

He was speaking to reporters in Pimpri. Former Minister Girish Mahajan was also present on the occasion.

Patil further said that the work of Jarandeshwar Sugar Factory is to make black money into white and its investigation is being done by the ED. If money laundering is also a case of the remaining sugar factories, it should also be investigated. According to available information, other factories are reported to have sold at lower prices. While questioning him, the State Co-operative Bank, which played a key role in the sale, and Ajit Pawar, the director of the bank, should also be questioned. Authorities at the time, as well as leaders who helped tacitly endorse this abuse, should be questioned.

NCP spokesperson and minister Nawab Malik has complained that he received a threatening phone call. When asked about this, Patil said that there is a Congress government in Rajasthan. Therefore, instead of just complaining, Nawab Malik should try to find and punish the intimidator with the help of the Rajasthan government.

Asked whether the BJP would form an alliance with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Patil said that there is no possibility of BJP forming an alliance with MNS.

“There is no proposal for BJP to form an alliance with Sambhaji Brigade also. We only read about it in the newspaper. Even if such a proposal is made, we do not think it is possible for the BJP to form an alliance with the Sambhaji Brigade”, he said in reply to a question.
