Ishanya Foundation donates safety face masks to Pune’s Medical Staff and Police Personnel

Pune, 18 April 2020: Ishanya Foundation, the CSR arm of Deepak Fertilisers And Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DFPCL), today pitched in their support city’s frontline heroes – the medical and police fraternities – leading nation’s fight against COVID19. The Foundation donated 2,300 safety face masks to Sassoon General Hospital and the Pune Police Force.

 

Speaking on the effort, Mrs. Parul S Mehta, Director – DFPCL & Trustee – Ishanya Foundation, said, “It is for each of us to contribute to the nation’s fight against a crisis of such unprecedented scale. While each one of should #stayathome and stop the spread; we are happy to contribute face masks and other medical supplies that are needed by the heroes who have to be at the frontlines. I would like to thank Sassoon General Hospital and the Pune Police Department for enabling us to partner them towards this noble initiative.”

 

A team of women apprentices from Ishanya Foundation’s skill development initiative – Income Generation Program contributed to the process of manufacturing the masks. Hygiene was ensured in every step of the process of making these masks. Sanitization of raw materials to transportation to the finished products were taken care of through longstanding partners.
