Ambegaon, August 23, 2020: Ambegaon village has come under the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in 2017. However, Jambhulwadi lake area at Ambegaon Khurd is excluded from the PMC, which has stopped the development in the region claims Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Corporator Yuvraj Beldare.

Speaking to Punekarnews.in Beldare said, “Jambhulwadi lake should be included in the municipal corporation, and a tourist destination should be created here. If this proposal is implemented, the development will get a boost”.

The lake has been constructed to provide permanent facilities for agriculture and drinking water for the residents of the village. Zila Parishad Schools have also been kept away from the PMC jurisdiction, informed the Corporator.

“Huge amount of drainage water has been discharged to the lake. This is the reason why people have stopped visiting the lake. If the lake area is developed as a tourist destination, the industries here will also prosper, which can lead to the development of the area. For this reason, the proposal regarding the tourist destination was put before the PMC three years ago, but we still haven’t received any response from the civic body”, he added.

Despite repeated demands, PMC hasn’t given any clarification on these subjects. Corporator from Ambegaon has requested PMC to pay attention to this, which will give impetus to new industries leading to employment in the area.
