Maharashtra COVID report: 10,441 new cases, 258 deaths today

Mumbai, Aug 23, 2020: A total of 8157 patients were discharged and 10,441 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra while 2536 new cases were reported in Pune today. Today, 258 COVID-19 deaths reported in the state, Case fatality rate in the state is 3.26%. The current count of COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra is 6,82,383 informed State Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

According to the health department, 4,88,271 patients have been cured while the Case fatality rate in the state is 3.26%. As of today, there are 1,71,542 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 71.55% while the fatality rate in the state is 3.26%. Currently, 12,30,982 people are in home quarantine and 34,820 people are in institutional quarantine.

Out of 36,16,704 laboratory samples, 6,82,383 have been tested positive (18.86%) for COVID-19 until today.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 3,044,940 across the country. Out of this, 2,280,566 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 56,706 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 707,668 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
