Japanese German Technology-Based Narayan Modular Artificial Limb Fitment Camp to be Held in Pune on August 23
Pune, 20th August 2026: Using modern technology in the field of prosthetic limbs, Udaipur-based Narayan Seva Sansthan will organize a 3D-printed Narayan Modular Artificial Limb Fitment Camp in Pune on August 23. The camp, being organized with the joint support of Tata Tele Business Services and Newman & Essar Group, will provide free modern artificial limbs and assistive devices to 361 persons with disabilities. A donor felicitation ceremony will also be held along with the camp.
The camp will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Tirupati Mangal Karyalaya, Tingre Nagar, Road No. 2, Vishrantwadi Airport Road, Pune. The inauguration will take place at 11:00 a.m. Only pre-selected beneficiaries will participate in the camp.
According to the Sansthan, 276 Narayan Modular Artificial Limbs will be fitted for 268 persons with disabilities, while 85 calipers will be fitted for 60 persons with disabilities.
Necessary assistive devices will also be provided. These beneficiaries were selected during the free Narayan Limb Measurement Camp organized on July 5.
Focus on Precision and Modular Design through 3D Printing
The key feature of the camp will be the 3D-printed Narayan Modular Artificial Limbs based on Japanese and German technology. Compared to traditional artificial limbs, an important aspect of modular technology is that its different components can be fitted and adjusted according to individual requirements, making them more suitable for the user. The 3D-based manufacturing technology helps achieve the required precision in the structure and fitting of the artificial limb.
A specialized technical team will not only fit the artificial limbs for the beneficiaries but will also focus on their positioning, balance, walking posture and ease of use. After the fitting, beneficiaries will be trained in the use of artificial limbs, maintaining balance, and walking safely and comfortably during daily activities. The objective is not only to provide artificial limbs but also to develop confidence in using them correctly.
Ashram In-charge Surendra Singh Jhala said that the Sansthan gives equal importance to the proper fitting and use of artificial limbs along with providing them. Increasing mobility and self-reliance among people facing difficulty in movement due to accidents, illness or congenital disabilities by providing them with artificial limbs made using modern technology is a major part of the Sansthan’s efforts.
Sansthan President Prashant Agarwal said “Technology becomes meaningful only when it helps make the lives of people in need easier and more self-reliant. With this vision, modern artificial limb fitment camps are being organized in metropolitan cities such as Pune. He said that the use of 3D printing and modular technology is being pursued to make artificial limbs more user-friendly.
He informed that free food, seating arrangements and basic medical facilities will also be available for the beneficiaries and their family members attending the camp. Social workers and donors will also be felicitated during the camp.”
More Than Four Decades of Service
It is noteworthy that Narayan Seva Sansthan has been carrying out service activities for persons with disabilities and people in need since 1985. The founder of the Sansthan, Padma Shri Kailash ‘Manav’, has been honored with the Padma Shri for his significant contribution to the field of service. Sansthan President Prashant Agarwal was honored with the President’s Award in 2023 for his outstanding contribution to the empowerment of persons with disabilities.
