Mumbai, 11th September: Famous lyricist Javed Akhtar has expressed displeasure over the attitude of world leaders and countries towards the Taliban.

Javed Akhtar tweeted saying it is a shame that the so-called civilized and democratic countries are ready to join hands with the Taliban. He appealed to all countries not to give recognition to the Taliban.

“every liberal person, every democratic government, every civilized society in the world should refuse and condemn the Taliban for the brutal repression of women or forget words like justice, humanity, and conscience”, the tweet states.

In his next tweet, Javed Akhtar criticized the Taliban’s spokesperson’s statement that women are meant to have children and not to become ministers.

He wrote, “the Taliban spokesperson told the world that women are not meant to be ministers but to stay at home and have children, but it is a shame that the world’s alleged civilized and democratic countries are ready to join hands with the Taliban.”

Earlier in one of the interviews, Javed Akhtar had said, “Northside people who want the Hindu nation are of the same mindset as the Taliban wants an Islamic country.”

He further said, “of course, the Taliban is barbaric and their actions are condemnable, but those who are supporting the RSS, VHP, and Bajrang dal are all the same.”
