Pune: FDA Teams Checking Sweet Vendors To Prevent Sell Of Adulterated Sweets During Ganeshotsav

Pune, 11th September 2021: In Ganeshotsav, the demand for Mawa Modak, as well as Khoya, increases. The food and drug administration (FDA) has started inspecting sweet shops in the city and suburbs after it came to light that some sweet vendors are selling adulterated sweets.

FDA department will keep an eye on the adulteration of sweets and action will be taken against sweet vendors selling adulterated sweets and samples of adulterated sweets will be seized and sent to the laboratory for testing. Teams of 17 food safety officers have been created to check sweet shops during the festival.

FDA has made it mandatory for all sweet vendors in the city to mention expiry dates on the boxes of sweets. The department has urged people to immediately lodge a complaint with the food and drug administration (toll-free no. 1800222356) if any malpractices are found.
