Jayant Patil Highlights Rahul Kalate’s Vision to Address Corruption in Pimpri Chinchwad
Chinchwad, 13th November 2024: Former Minister Jayant Patil visited Pimpri Chinchwad yesterday to campaign for Rahul Kalate, the Mahavikas Aghadi’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate for Chinchwad. A public event was held at Rahatani in support of Kalate, attended by prominent leaders including Vilas Lande, Gautam Chabukswar, Savita Dagade, Sunil Gavhane, Tushar Kamthe, Kailas Kadam, Tukaram Bhondve, Imran Shaikh, Sagar Tapkir, Dinesh Bhondve, Jyoti Nimbalkar, Sachin Gaikwad, Anita Tutare, Vaishali Marathe, Devendra Taide, Avinash Bhalke, Shivaji Padule, Mayur Jadhav, and Kaustubh Navale, along with a large number of Mahavikas Aghadi supporters.
Jayant Patil praised Rahul Kalate as a charismatic leader with the ability to connect with people across all demographics—from children to elders and from women to youth. Patil described Kalate as well-rounded and knowledgeable, emphasising that his leadership in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly would drive comprehensive development not only for Chinchwad but for the entire city. He highlighted the collective resolve to secure Kalate’s victory and bring him to the Assembly.
Patil also criticised the BJP, accusing it of promoting nepotism without accountability. He argued that Rahul Kalate is a much better choice to combat corruption within the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), which he claimed has tarnished the city’s reputation. According to Patil, corruption has deeply affected PCMC, altering the city’s identity and fostering a culture where current leaders treat holding office as an opportunity to secure a share of the corporation’s funds. He expressed concern that these leaders view Pimpri Chinchwad as a “money-grabbing quarry.”
Former MLA Vilas Lande added, “Pimpri Chinchwad flourished when Sharad Pawar introduced the IT Park, making the Chinchwad region especially prosperous. Voters across all three constituencies are set to make a statement in return for this progress. They will elect the Mahavikas Aghadi to address the state’s worsening situation and put an end to the overwhelming corruption in the municipal corporation.”
NCP-SP candidate Rahul Kalate remarked, “Despite years of continuous rule by the same family, Chinchwad has seen little progress beyond corruption and unresolved issues. This time, the people are ready for a real change.”
