JW Marriott Pune switches off for a brighter tomorrow

Pune- Maharashtra – 27th March: JW Marriott Pune joined in the celebration of 10 years of Earth Hour in India and extended its support by turning off its lights on Saturday from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. Earth Hour is the world’s largest grassroots movement that aims to create awareness about environmental issues and encourage protection of our great planet Earth.

The hotel contributed to saving maximum electricity by switching off all major units of lighting for an hour, 50% of the external lighting around the property as well as water feature lights, lobby pillar lights and ACs were all turned off. Internal offices and BOH areas were illuminated with emergency lights while the floor corridor lights were dimmed.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Vineet Mishra, General Manager – JW Marriott Pune said, “Our future depends on our actions today and we are honored to extend our support every year to this great cause in every way we can. Being a part of a global movement brings in a sense of empowerment to contribute to the global society and we hope to bring a change towards a better tomorrow through the simplest of actions.”

To ensure guest safety and awareness, Ambassadors wearing Earth hour t-shirts were stationed at all guest contact areas to engage and encourage them to be a part of the actions for the cause.
