K2S Monsoon Adventure Race 2.0 to be held on July 26
Pune, 2nd July 2025: With the monsoon in full swing, Pune is gearing up for a high-octane adventure as the second edition of the Katraj to Sinhagad (K2S) Monsoon Adventure Race returns on July 26, 2025. The race, which promises a blend of endurance, thrill, and scenic beauty, will see participants tackle a challenging 21-kilometre stretch from the Katraj Tunnel to the foothills of the historic Sinhagad Fort.
The event will be inaugurated by mountaineer and Giripremi Adventure Foundation’s Umesh Zirpe, along with Nilesh Bandal of Bandal Group. Speaking at a press conference, Mahendra Lokare, organiser of the race and director of LyfeFit Arena, said that the monsoon adventure is designed to give Punekars another opportunity to experience the outdoors in all its raw and rugged glory.
Lokare described the K2S Monsoon Adventure Race 2.0 as an “unmatched test of willpower, stamina, and inner strength.” Participants will navigate their way across 13 hills, covering a rain-drenched and undulating terrain of 21 kilometers. The race is being held in two formats: the K2S Trailblazer, a competitive 21-km category, and the K2S Adventure Run, a noncompetitive 7-km variant. Registration for both events is open until July 15.
The competitive race will begin at 7 am from the old Katraj Tunnel, with a time limit of seven hours to reach Sinhagad’s base point. The non-competitive Adventure Run will commence an hour later, at 8 am, allowing participants to walk, run, or trek the designated route.
All participants will be provided with a race timing bib, dry-fit t-shirt, finisher medal, post-run refreshments, emergency medical assistance, mountain rescue support, and volunteer help along the course. Attractive cash prizes will be awarded across age categories, and each age group will be judged separately under the men’s and women’s sections.
The Trailblazer category is open to participants aged 18 to 35 (open class), 36 to 45, and 46 years and above (veteran category). Lokare also confirmed that special transport arrangements are in place to facilitate participants on race day.
For registration and queries, interested participants can contact 8087 608326 or 98508 14857, or write to [email protected]. A special discount is available for those who use the promo code ‘READERS20’ while signing up.
Calling the race a unique way to blend fitness with nature, Lokare urged Punekars to step outside their comfort zones this monsoon.
“This is not just a race. It’s a personal journey — across hills, through mist, and beyond limits. We invite everyone to experience nature’s raw beauty while discovering their own resilience,” he added.
