Kalyani Nagar Private Bungalow Pub in Pune is Legal, Says Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis
Kalyani Nagar, 15 July 2025: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis clarified in the Legislative Assembly that the controversial pub operating out of a private bungalow in Kalyani Nagar, Pune, currently known as Budget Room and formerly called Unicorn House, is running with valid licenses from both the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Maharashtra State Excise Department.
This statement comes amid allegations about unauthorized use of the property and mounting civic concerns following recent incidents at the establishment.
The issue was raised by Vadgaonsheri MLA Bapusaheb Pathare (NCP-SP), who questioned the legality and safety of such a pub in a residential area. Fadnavis addressed the claims, reiterating that the bar and permit room had all necessary official clearances and refuting suggestions of illegal operation.
