Pune, 6th March 2025: While poetry captures emotions in rhythmic verses, storytelling weaves narratives that engage the imagination—together, they create a powerful and immersive performing arts experience. Organized by KavitaKAFE in collaboration with Monalisa Kalagram, “Katha-Kavya” aims to bridge these expressive forms, offering a platform for creativity and cultural exchange.

“The art of storytelling and poetry beautifully intertwines emotions, imagination, and rhythm, creating a profound experience for the audience. Katha-Kavya is a remarkable fusion of these two expressive forms, celebrating their shared essence. Monalisa Kalagram is proud to be a part of this unique endeavor that bridges tradition and creativity,” says Lisa Pingale, founder, Monalisa Kalagram.

Set to take place on March 8th, International Women’s Day, from 4 PM to 6:30 PM at Monalisa Kalagram, Koregaon Park, this event will showcase the works of talented poets and storytellers. They will present creations inspired by diverse themes, including those that celebrate the essence of womanhood. The event will also witness live painting by artist Anand Bekwad.

Some of the poets who will be participating in Katha-Kavya include Amol Patil, Renu Solanki, Rishikesh Khodke, Radhika Mukherjee, Shekhar Jha, and Keshava Shukla, amongst others. Amol Patil, a budding poet feels that poetry platforms are needed to encourage budding poets like him, while Keshava Shukla is looking forward to recite a set of short poems under the title “Ummeed se Sachchai Tak” which demonstrates how it is not easy to capture life swinging between the two poles of hope and truth in words, and thus attempts to reflect that struggle and inner conflict.

“Pune is witnessing a flourishing wave of poetry and storytelling events, drawing both enthusiasts and artists to its vibrant cultural scene. Katha-Kavya stands out as a joyous celebration of these two intertwined art forms, showcasing their mutual harmony. As a poet myself, I feel poetry is the perfect way to celebrate Women’s Day. Just as poetry intricately weaves emotions into eloquent verse, womanhood reflects a rich tapestry of strength, beauty, and resilience, with every thread narrating its own unique story,” says Garima Mishra, Founder of KavitaKAFE.
