Khalistani terrorist arrested by Pune ATS

Pune – On 02/12/2018 ATS Pune Unit had received Information that one person coming near chakan area, district pune carrying illegal fire arms.

ATS, Pune unit laid down the trap in the Chakan area. Said person was found while carrying 01 illegal country made pistol, 05 rounds in possession and he has been arrested.

Accused Harpal Singh Pratap Singh Naik (42), is residing at Dist. Bellary, Karnataka, is originally from Dist. Ropar, Punjab. An offence has been registered at ATS police station vide CR No.13/2018 u/s 3, 25 Indian Arms Act r/w 37(1) r/w135 of Maharashtra Police Act 1951.

During the course of investigation it has been revealed that accused is conversant with the use of Social media and Internet. With the use of it he’s trying to procure weapons, and instigating youths for carrying out terrorist activities in India. He is a strong supporter of separate Khalistan.

For the formation of separate Khalistan is in contact with terror minded people from across the country and abroad including Pakistan.

To threaten the integrity and the sovereignty of India, accused and his associates have formed a terrorist gang and obtained fire arms to carry out terrorist activities. According to the evidence collected so far, section 20 of Unlawful activities (prevention) act 1967, amended 2008 is added against accused and his associates.

Today accused was produced before Hon. Special Court, Pune and is further remanded to police custody till 17/12/2018.

Another associate and a member of his gang is recently arrested by Sarhand Police Station, Punjab. ATS, Pune Unit is further investing the case.
