Kidnapped Businessman From Pimpri Found Dead In Mahad
Pimpri, February 7, 2021: A 45-year-old chit fund businessman who was abducted from near his house in Pimpri on February 4, has been found dead in Mahad, about 140 km from here, in Raigad district.
His family members have alleged that Pimpri police station officials did not take the case seriously and registered a missing person case instead of a kidnapping case.
The deceased has been identified as Anand Sahebrao Unawane, a resident of Mhada colony in Morwadi, Pimpri. His brother Vishnu Unawane had lodged a complaint with police.
According to DCP (Zone 1) Manchak Ipper, while the investigation was going on, the body was found in water in Mahad on February 6. Pimpri police and Unawane’s relatives went to Mahad to confirm the identity and it was of Unawane. An investigation is going on to nab the culprits.
