Kondhwa Area Drug Bust: Pune Police Seize 40 kg Ganja, Arrest Accused
Kondhwa, 12th April 2023: The Anti-Narcotics Squad One of Pune Police has successfully seized 40.245 kilograms of ganja worth 8 lakhs from the Kondhwa area.
The accused, Venkat Manohar Suryavanshi, a 40-year-old resident of Bhosari, who hails from Bidar in Karnataka, was also apprehended, along with a bike and a mobile phone. The Kondhwa Police Station has registered a case against him.
Police Constable Vishal Dalvi received information that a person was carrying ganja while the anti-narcotics squad was patrolling the Kondhwa area. Following this, the team set a trap and arrested Suryavanshi. The police seized a total of 40 kilograms of ganja, a two-wheeler, and a mobile phone, with a total value of 8 lakhs and 65 thousand.
Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar and Joint Commissioner Sandeep Karnik have ordered strict action against drug peddlers, and this successful operation is a testament to their commitment.
The action was taken by team comprising ACP Sunil Pawar, Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad, API Shailja Jankar, and police personnel Pandurang Pawar, Sujit Wadekar, Manoj Kumar Salunke, Maruti Pardhi, Pravin Uttekar, Sachin Malve, Rahul Joshi, Vishal Shinde, Sandesh Kakade, Rehana Shaikh, and Yogesh Mohite.
