Pune, 12th April 2024: Due to the potential danger posed by the Sadhu Vaswani Bridge under the Bund Garden Traffic Branch, the Pune Municipal Corporation has decided to demolish and reconstruct the bridge. This decision may lead to traffic congestion in Koregaon Park and the surrounding Bund Garden area while the bridge is being demolished and rebuilt.

To manage traffic effectively during this period, Shashikant Borate, the then Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pune City, implemented a temporary experimental traffic scheme in the Koregaon Park and Bund Garden areas starting on February 10, 2024. This scheme was adjusted as needed to keep traffic flowing smoothly during the construction phase.

Rohidas Pawar, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pune City, has issued a new notification under the Home Department and the Motor Vehicle Act, which outlines partial changes to the existing traffic regulations in the area. The new changes, as well as any previously announced changes, will remain in effect from April 13, 2024, until further notice.

Under the new traffic regulations, all types of vehicles will be permitted to travel from Mangaldas Chowk to Mangaldas Road from Moboj Chowk. These measures aim to minimize traffic disruptions and ensure the safety of commuters while construction work is ongoing.

Residents and commuters are advised to stay updated on traffic advisories and follow any further instructions issued by the Pune City Traffic Police during this period.
