Lakshya Sports Signs Twelve new players this year, now supports 40 players, Launches Monitoring App ‘Gold’

Pune, March 11, 2023: Winner of the National Sports Award for Sports Promotion Lakshya announced the signing of Twelve new players for 360 Degree Support expanding its Strength to 40 players across sports disciplines , A new Monitoring App named GOLD was also Launched today

Speaking to Newspersons on the occasion of Lakshya’s 13 Year old Anniversary Celebrations , Mr Satyen Patel , President of Lakshya Said that there has been steady progress in our Support to players from across the Country , I am glad and humbled to acknowledge that we are living at a time when sports in our country has grown from just a hobby to a serious commitment – professionally and personally , ” He said

“Sports is taken seriously not just by the athletes or the federations, but also by the government and many organizations, who are working tirelessly towards taking Indian athletes to a new height . The new Signees by Lakshya in 2022-23 Include Alfiya Pathan Boxing Gold at Senior Asian Boxing Championship 2022 (Morde Foods) Devika Ghorpade Boxing Gold at Youth World Boxing Championship ( Edelgive ) , Ashish Kumar Boxing Member of Tokyo Olympic and CommonWealth Games (Sahyadri Industries), Divya Kakran Bronze medallist at Commonwealth Games 2022 (Bharat Forge) Sunil Kumar Wrestling Gold at U 23 Asian Wrestling Championship ( Edelgive ), Member of Commonwealth Games Table Tennis team Reeth Rishya (Morde Foods) , Akanksha Nitture Tennis Finalist at Fenesta Open Tennis National Championships in doubles category ( Bharat Forge), Jennifer Varghese National Champion 2022 in U-15 category (Cheviot), Taneesha Kotecha Silver Medallist at U-19 National Championships 2022 (Cheviot), Sneha Soren (Sahyadri), Anish Danei Silver Medallist at Asian Badminton Championships 2022 (Sahyadri), Pratik Deshmukh (Sahyadri)

Mr Sunder Iyer, Secretary of Lakshya Added Our aim is to see India on top of the Olympics table. This is a dream that we all know is possible. We are Supporting over 40 Athletes with a ratio of 32% Males and 68% females .

The Average Age of Players supported by Lakshya is 21 years , we are currently supporting 24 Junior Athletes and 16 Senior Athletes who have fetched over 102 Medals which include 13 in Major International Events , 23 in International events and 68 at National Levels out of these 83 Medals are won by Women and 19 by Mens athletes.

Iyer added ” We at Lakshya, on the other hand, are also growing with our athletes. We are focusing on not just supporting our athletes financially, but also making them physically and mentally strong ” we have aided our players with Fitness tests , Mental Conditioning Sessions. Nutritional Counselling Sessions, Injury Management needing surgical interventions and s Mental Toughness assessments through the year

The results have been overwhelming with Devika Ghorpade becoming World Youth Boxing Champion 2022, Alfiya Pathan Winning the Senior Asian Boxing Championship , Sharath Kamal Commonwealth Games Gold , Divya Kakran Commonwealth Games Bronze , Suhana Saini World Youth Championship -2022 Bronze -Doubles, Team -Bronze , Sajan Bhanwal U-23 World Wrestling Championship -2022 Bronze , Shravani Lavate Sub-Junior Asian Championship 2022 Silver , Sunil Kumar U 23 Asian Wrestling Championship 2022 Gold , we are also felicitating these players for their performances on our annual day

The Treasurer of Lakshya Mr Bharat Shah Informed that We are also Launching GOLD – Lakshya Proprietary App , to keep track of Lakshya athletes while they are moving ahead towards their Olympic Goal.This app will help to keep a eye on their progress be it their rankings,tournament performance and fitness aspects.As we collect more data,we would be able to get more insights,set patterns for achieving success. We are responsible for the Funds we receive for our players from various Sponsors and Donors and We are Sure that This APP will help justify the requirements of our Stakeholders as they can also monitor the progress of their Supported Players making the entire system transparent,

The Players were also felicitated on the occasion along with a launch of a Coffee Table Book which marked the history and progress of Lakshya and over 100 of its supported players over the last 13 years .
