Land Management: Pune District Requests Priority In Maharashtra’s e-Chavadi Project

Pune, 3rd March 2023: Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, the District Magistrate of Pune, has called for Pune district to be given priority in the e-Chavadi project, which aims to significantly increase revenue growth for the government. Speaking at a one-day training workshop for Talathi and Mandal Officers organized to implement the project, Dr Deshmukh highlighted the district’s significant work in issuing records, correcting 7/12 discrepancies, and reducing the number of complaint cases.

The workshop was attended by Pune Division Revenue Deputy Commissioner Ramchandra Shinde, Additional Collector and State Coordinator of E-Ferfar Project Sarita Narke, and all sub-divisional officers of Pune district, among others.

During the workshop, Narke gave detailed guidance regarding the project to be implemented through Talathi and Mandal Officers of e-Chavadi, e-Haqq, and e-Ferfar, and also solved the technical problems in e-chavadi and e-ferfar. The seminar saw a detailed discussion on reducing the registration period, e-Haqq, and increasing citizen participation in e-Haqq, among other issues.

E-Chavadi is an ambitious project of the Maharashtra Government that allows citizens to pay non-agricultural and agriculture taxes online. Additionally, village samples 1 to 21 in Talathi Daptar will be computerized. The operation of this project began in the district on August 1, 2022. In this regard, in 906 villages of Pune district, the work of computerization of data entry of village samples 1 to 21 has been initiated under the e-Chavadi project.

The workshop was attended by Bajrang Mekale, Vice President of the Maharashtra State Talathi Association, Sudhir Sanlang, President of the Pune District Talathi Association, and other district officials and Talathi. During the workshop, participants expressed their views and expectations, and a plan was developed for conducting more training programs if necessary.
