Leopard Sighting at Pune Airport Runway; Forest Officials Rush to Spot

Viman Nagar, 28th April 2025: A leopard was reportedly sighted on the runway of Pune Airport on Monday night, triggering concern among airport authorities and passengers. Forest department officials confirmed receiving a call about the leopard sighting around 8 pm and said a team has been dispatched to the location.
The incident comes amid growing reports of leopard movements around the Lohgaon area. Residents of Forest Park Colony, located near the airport premises, have previously reported multiple sightings of the wild cat.
Forest department and RESQ teams are currently scanning the area to trace the animal and ensure safety measures are in place.
“There is a leopard there. Pune Forest Department, RESQ CT Team are monitoring the leopards movement. Airforce and Airport have been very cooperative to ensure all efforts are made to make sure no untoward incidents happen”, said Neha Panchamiya, Founder, RESQ.
