Lighthouse Communities Foundation Celebrates World Youth Skills Day In Pune

Pune, 22nd July 2022: On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, Lighthouse Communities Foundation, an NGO working for youth livelihood, organized sessions and events.

 

Mamta Naidu, National Head of Skillings and Placements at Lighthouse said, “A skill can be anything and everything; and we can try learning whatever skill we find interesting.”

 

At Tingre Nagar Lighthouse, alumni students who completed their skills and students who are currently pursuing the skill course from Lighthouse shared their views on how the skills course is helping them gain confidence. They also talked about what they are aspiring to do after the completion of the course.

An Outdoor cleanliness activity was also organized where students cleaned the surrounding area.

 

At Bhavani Peth Lighthouse, Mr. Jayesh Baheti, Chartered Accountant and Founder of Baheti and Somani LLP was invited as the chief guest for the occasion.

He interacted with the youth and spoke about the importance of learning during the job and getting experience when you are fresher. He also emphasized the importance of getting fundamentals right rather than just learning the application of tally and other software.

He said that earning and learning are inversely proportional to each other. He also talked about going for performance-oriented skilled jobs rather than semi-skilled compliance-based jobs.

 

Students from Fashion Designing, Home Chef, Beauty, and Makeup had put up stalls which made a good sale of products and services.
